Burt Nanus is professor emeritus of management at the University of Southern California’s (USC’s) School of Business Administration and an independent consultant in leadership.  He is also a former director of research at UCS’s Leadership Institute.

Nelson, Alan E.

Now launching the Scottsdale Family Church in Arizona, Alan E. Nelson is the former executive pastor at First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma, the largest church in the Nazarene denomination. He has planted a new church, earned his doctorate at the University of San Diego, founded the Christian Leadership Institute, and is the author of Five Minute Ministry and Broken in the Right Places.

Nouwen, Henri j.m.

Catholic priest, pastoral theologian at Yale from 1971 to 1986. For the last decade of his life he was a member of L’Arche Community, a network of homes for the disabled. He died in 1996. A website dedicated to Nouwen can be found at www.nouwen.net

Olsen, Charles M.

Olsen is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He directed the Set Apart Lay Leader Project, a four-year effort focusing on the integration of spirituality and administration in church boards. His book, Transforming Church Boards, grew out of that project. Dr. Olsen now directs the Worshipful-Work: Center for Transforming Religious Leadership, located in Kansas City, Missouri.

Oswald, Roy M.

Senior consultant with Alban Institute. Roy Oswald is identified with research into the transitions clergy make when they enter parishes for the first time and for clergy in longer pastorates. More recently he has headed studies of the candidacy process, leadership needs of small congregations, and new methodology for assessing ministries using clergy/lay teams.
