Generations in Conversation: A short Trinity College course
on generational change and theological reflection held at Logan Uniting
Church.
Most workshops on generations (Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennials etc.)
provide a set of generalisations and ask participants to respond.
Would you like to go deeper, to explore the subtleties of generational
change, taking into account the influence of gender, ethnic background,
socio-economic factors?
Would you like to test the assumptions often made by marketers?
Duncan Macleod, Mission Consultant, is designing a postgraduate level
course as part of his D.Min studies with San Francisco Theological Seminary.
In cooperation with Trinity College and Logan Uniting Church he will be
offering a course for people interested in inter-generational conversation
on generational culture, personal experience and faith.
The first weekend course introduces participants to conversation partners
in the fields of generational culture, theological reflection,
contextualisation and dialogue. Participants will be invited to engage with
reading, popular culture in dialogue with people from at least two other
generations from their local context.
The second weekend will provide opportunity to reflect on conversation
and will consider appropriate forms of ministry and mission in response to
generational change.
Friday night, Saturday, August 26, 27
